AHL Limited audit on behalf of Sport NI
An audit was carried out during the first quarter of 2007. The objective of this audit was to assess the Taekwondo Association of Northern Ireland’s ability to manage and account for public funds. AHL's audit approach was Corporate Governance based with specific consideration given to the following areas:
2.1. Corporate Structure;
2.2. Corporate Objectives;
2.3. Risk Management;
2.4. Financial Control;
2.5. Policies and Procedures;
2.6. Equalities;
2.7. Human Resources; and
2.8. Other Business Issues.
AHL Ltd. concluded, on the basis of the audit work undertaken, gave the highest level awarded: reasonable assurance and was given for the effectiveness of Taekwondo Association of Northern Irelands corporate governance framework.
Overall, TANI has sound governance processes in place with particularly strong policies and procedures for an organisation of its size.
TANI is one of only three governing bodies within NI to achieve this!

The TANI approach an examplar
Professor Chang Ung, President of ITF, has praised TANI in its approach to uniting WTF and ITF groups under its umbrella. He is so impressed that he will be holding TANI up as an examplar of how Taekwondo at a world level can proceed in its efforts to unite.
